Sound Design and Mixing
This film was a volunteer effort made in partnership with Shining Hope for Communities.
Recording in the third world is problematic, and much of the audio recorded with the footage was unusable due to noise. Authentic sounds of the children would be crucial in immersing viewers in the emotional and inspiring story, so we dug through audio that was recorded while filming in Kibera and cut it to the edit.
We also created Foley and ambiances to highlight points and add depth to the film. While almost the entire soundtrack was meticulously created in post, it was important that it felt completely natural and not designed.
